Time for a paranormal YA involving
fairies and werewolves. It is The Burning Star, by Jessie Lane.
The Story- Kay has been told she has
only 6 months to live. She will die of cancer before her eighteenth birthday.
Desperate, her mom takes her to her birthplace, Asheville, NC, refusing to give
up hope.
But, what kind of answers can Kay’s
birthplace provide? Well, several. First Kay meets handsome Ryan, and watches
him defeat an evil demon. What? Is she hallucinating? Then she meets robust and
just as handsome Nick, who looks a little like a black wolf she’s been seeing
around the woods. When all three come together, sparks fly, and a love triangle
emerges.
But, that’s not all. Her mother has
been hiding secrets from Kay, secrets about a magical heritage and the truth
about her “real” family. Now, Kay must solve a shaman’s prophecy to save
herself and her homeland.
My thoughts-
Delightful, entertaining, and sexy. This book starts with action and then keeps going. First we meet Ryan, so hot. Then Nick, so cool. And right away we know they are both different. Luckily, the writer doesn’t draw this out, but jumps right in. And soon we are learning the history of both gentlemen. And then poor normal Kay, isn’t so normal anymore.

There is a side plot going on at the
same time. At first I wasn’t so interested in it. I was totally invested in Kay’s
story. But, then I figured out who the mystery girl was, and things got more
intense. And I was just waiting for the two girls to meet.
The plot is full of twists and turns
that are woven in a delightful way. I couldn’t put the book down, I just wanted
to know what would happen next, and who the good guys and bad guys were. And
then there is the ending, a total cliff hanger. And from what we learn about
the evil Lord Donovan, Kay is in for some serious trouble.
And I just have to mention the cover, I love it. The way everything is flowing up looks so cool. And the yellow, fiery eye shadow, spectacular.

oh wow this does sound amazing!! and yea i love the cover too! I need to add it to my tbr!!
